Mr. Alton Crum Blackwell Polk was born September 3, 1938 to the late Octavia Polk and James K. Polk in Ripley, MS. on June 3, 2024.
Alton passed from the pains of this world at his home into the arms of his LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Alton accepted Christ at an early age and joined Oak Grove C.M.E.
Church in Biggersville, MS. Alton loved to buy cars, trucks and tractors and became known as a shade tree mechanic. After retirement, he could be found sitting outside the grocery store drinking Coke Cola and talking. He loved children and was known to some as "Pops" He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mary Harmon, three brothers: Robert Polk, Steve Polk and Nelson Polk and special
end Ester Mayes.
He leaves to cherish his memories four sisters: Dorothy Alexander, Nellie Bush, Ann Wade and Vannie Holland; one brother-in-Law Rev.
Richard Wade, his adopted special children Robert Mayes-deceased, Lisa Mayes, Sandy Mayes, Brenda Mayes and Ray Mayes, his running mate grandson, Terrance Mayes along with a host of grand-children, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
