On July 22, 1992, God blessed Christopher and Lydia Pollard with a precious son, Desmond Pollard.
On January 17, 2026, God, in His infinite wisdom, sent one of His angels to call Desmond home, where he now rests in eternal peace.
Desmond lived with a deep love for life, faith, and family. At an early age, he professed his love for Christ and united with Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church. His faith was steady and sincere, and he often looked to Psalm 23 as a guiding light for his life, trusting God through every valley and blessing.
A 2010 honors graduate of Kossuth High School, Desmond went on to attend Mississippi State University. He was known for his strong Pollard work ethic and a genuine love for working with his hands. Building and creating were more than hobbies—they were expressions of who he was.
Desmond worked faithfully as a supervisor at Winston Plywood in Louisville, Mississippi. Prior to that, he served as a supervisor at Asian Candle Company and was also self-employed for a year, always willing to take on new challenges and opportunities.
Desmond was also a devoted sports fan, proudly cheering for Louisiana State University (LSU) and the Dallas Cowboys. This passion for sports was a bond he shared with his father and a source of many joyful and memorable moments.
Dezzy shared a unique and unbreakable bond with his mother, a relationship marked by deep love, trust, and devotion. Their connection was a constant source of comfort and strength for both of them and will forever remain a treasured part of his legacy.
Desmond also had a deep love for animals and was devoted to his beloved pets, Queen, his dog, and Lucky, his cat. Those who knew Desmond knew how deeply he loved and was loved in return. His presence brought light, laughter, and strength, and his memory will forever remain a blessing to his family and friends.
Desmond was preceded in death by his brother, Broderick Boyd; his grandparents, Willie L. and Charles Windom, Henry and Addie Pollard; and a host of aunts, uncles, and other beloved relatives.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his parents, Christopher and Lydia Pollard; his brother, Chris (Raisa) Pollard; his fiancee, Kinna Carter, and a host of devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family, and friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
