Donny Mitchell Clayton was born in Hattiesburg, MS on June 16, 1960 to the late Mr. & Mrs. George Ray and Jimmy Louise Clayton. He professed hope in Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Zion M.B. Church in Hattiesburg, MS. As a young man, he loved band and received several awards in school. He graduated top of his class from Bay Springs High School. He attended Mississippi Valley State and Jackson State University on a band scholarship. After college, in 1978 he joined the National Guard and later in 1981 the joined the Army where he was stationed in Germany for 4 years. After the Army he took a job in Louisiana and later moved to Texas where he met and married the love of his life Billie Tye, and had 2 children. While in Texas he attended the Word of Faith and Founder Southwest SDA church in Houston TX. For years he owned and operated his very own computer company named CavCom Computer services and later he worked as an Executive Secretary at B.P. He then moved to Booneville MS in 2011 where he worked with his brother-in-law Roy White in his construction company. Throughout his life he had a great love and passion for God, singing, music and computers.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 33 years Billie Tye Clayton, His adoring children Apryl M. Clayton of Texas, Daniel M. Clayton of Mississippi and Melissa N. Clayton of California. His sister and niece Karen (Eric) and Kacy Clayton, His brothers Michael (Gene) Clayton, Frank (Darlene) Clayton and Ken (Ginger) Clayton and a host of nieces and nephews. A host of sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law Terry (Neely) Eckford, Wendy (Johnnie) Gardner, Janice (Johnny) Patton, Russell (Freddie) Tye, Levera (Kenneth) Veasley, Wade (Karen) Tye, Mary (Jimmy Dale) Fields, Sarah (Jessie) Pannell, Karen (Roy) White, Kenneth Tye, Christopher Tye, and Velicia (Antonio) Townsend, as well as many relatives and very close special friends.
