Edna Renay Mitchell was born August 4, 1971, to Minnie Ruth Mitchell and Lloyd Seay in Iuka, MS. She departed this life on Saturday, February 18, 2023.
Renay joined First Missionary Baptist Church, when she was 12 years old and was baptized in the Eastport River. She attended the Iuka School District and participated in the junior high band as a clarinet player. When she was a junior, she was a member of the homecoming court and graduated from Iuka High School in 1990. In that same year, she became the proud mother of Michael Deon.
She was employed with Browns Ferry and worked 20 plus years with the National Brotherhood of Boilermakers.
Renay truly appreciated her privacy, yet she would help you from her heart. She took tremendous joy in caring for and loving her treasured mother, Minnie Ruth and her son Michael. She also constantly demonstrated kind and unfailing love and support for her extended family. She celebrated every accomplishment and gave encouraging words.
Renay was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Seay, her grandmother, Matilda Mitchell Seay, and several aunts and cousins.
She leaves to cherish her dear mother, Minnie Ruth Mitchell; her beloved son, Michael Mitchell; two great aunts, Velma Stover and Virginia Pearl Seay, and a host of family, friends, and co-workers.
