Our blessing, Gaynell Andrews was the daughter of the late Henry I.V. and Addie B. Simmons- Pollard. She was born July 12, 1945 in Guys, Tennessee and departed this life on April 17, 2022 at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was baptized and confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and remained under the guidance of the ministries of Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church until her death.
She was a graduate of McNairy County High School and worked several years as a skilled worker in the manufacturing industry. She loved her family and always loved sharing information and stories with the new generation about those ancestors that have long passed. She was a great cook whose recipes over the years kept many bellies fed. She loved flowers and enjoyed the outdoors and could always be found out in her yard digging, plucking and planting.
Gaynell was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Addie Pollard; two sisters, Carrie Wyke and Shirley Toomer; four brothers, Henry Pollard, Charles Pollard, Kenneth Pollard and Otis Pollard and her loving son, Darvious Andrews. Those left to cherish her memory are her grandson, LaDarious (Kaylee)Andrews; three brothers James L. (Annie) Pollard, Jake T. (Carolyn) Pollard, and Christopher T. (Lynn) Pollard all of Corinth, MS; one brother-in-law, John K. Wyke of Markham, IL; two sister-in-law’s, Ethel Pollard and Georgia Pollard both of Corinth, MS; two aunts, Willette Floyd of Michie, TN and Dorothy Turner of Corinth, MS; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
