Melinda Ann Randle Bates was born January 13, 1964 to the late Calvin Randle and Retha Wise Randle. She departed this life on January 12, 2020 at Forrest General Hospital surround by her loving family to on to glory.
Melinda was raised in Texarkana and accepted Christ at an early age. She attended the Texarkana Independent School District.
Later in life she met and married Albert D Bates, were they moved to Hattiesburg, MS and then years later to Tylertown, MS. She was a mother of six children, but a mother to many others. Sher wore many hats in her lifetime as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and church friend. She attended Tylertown First Baptist under the leadership of Apostle Clayton Bullock. Melinda loved her church and church family.
She is preceded in death by her grandson D'Money Tremaine Lewis; parents, Calvin Randle Retha Wise Lewis; brother, Alvin Randle and sister, Clara Randle.
She leaves to cherish her memories and works: husband, Albert D Bates of Tylertown, MS; four sons, Henry Jerome Lewis of Texarkana, TX, Jeremey (Courtney) Lewis and Samuel Bates both of Tylertown, MS. and Jermaine Lewis of Texarkana, TX, daughters, Serenity Bates and Shantaner (Mario) Brister both of Tylertown, MS, six brothers, Calvin (Debra) Randle of Texarkana, TX, Willie Randle of Minneapolis, MN, William Randle of Texarkana, TX, James (Cerita) Dockery) of San Antonio, TX, Edward (LaDawn) Lewis of Texarkana, TX and Jera Lewis of Minneapolis, MN, nine sisters, Dorothy (Joel) Walker, of Texarkana, TX, Doris (Timothy) Morine of Texarkana, AR,Rose Tucker, Carolyn (David) Wilson, Teressa Howard of Texarkana, TX, Geneve Randle of Wake Village, TX, Bernette (Gerald, Jr.) Newton of Texarkana, TX, Jeanette Harris of Bradley, AR and Betty Lewis of Texarkana, TX, special sister in Christ, Patricia Cooper and Lisa Ann Causey, a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunt, uncle, sister-in-law, brother-in-law, cousins, other relatives and friends.
