Virgie Grace Chambers

Virgie G. Chambers "Biggie" of Rienzi, MS, transitioned from this life on Thursday, November 9, 2023. Virgie was born in Booneville, MS to the late Fred Douglas and Marie Leslie. Virgie attended Eason High School. Following school, she later married James C. Chambers and moved to then lived in Elkhart, IN before moving back to Mississippi where she joined the workforce in Booneville, MS. At a young age, Virgie began her spiritual journey at Synagogue M.B. Church in Rienzi, MS. She was a quiet spirited person that loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, siblings, family, neighbors, friends and most of all God. She served God through love to her family and others as she was active in Nursing Home Ministry for several years and the Tuesday Community Bible Study that was hosted at Synagogue Church, until her health began to decline.

Some of Virgie's hobbies included watching westerns, getting takeout from KFC, Captain D's, and dining in at New China Buffet.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her children, Tina Faye Leslie of Corinth, MS, Casandra Ann Harvell (Frederick) of Rienzi, MS, Bobby Louis Chambers (close friend Francis) of Corinth, MS, Gregory Douglas Chambers (Dianna) of Rienzi, MS, Marcus Eugene Chambers and Tommy Allen Chambers of Rienzi, MS. Grandchildren: Sasha Warren Justin) of Saltillo, MS, Brandon Leslie(Jennifer), Kristopher Leslie of Booneville, MS, Terrell Harvell of Houston, TX, Charity Harvell of Rienzi, MS, Hope Chambers and Jamarcus Chambers of Rienzi, MS, Ashanti Triplett and Tia Triplett of Corinth, MS, Jamal Chambers and Tiara Harvey (Virgie raised) of Booneville, MS, Shania Chambers of Booneville, MS, A'Mircle and J'Son Copeland of Booneville, MS, Pheonia Chambers of Booneville, MS, and her grand-dog "Tulip Harvell." Also, eleven great-grandchildren and twelve step-grandchildren. A sister, Una Mae Miller (Son Otis) of Rienzi, MS, Three brothers, Joe Louis Leslie (Katherine) of Rienzi, MS, R.C Leslie of Rienzi, MS, Charles Ray Mitchell (Dianne) of St Louis, MO and a Brother-in-law Willie C. Chambers of South-bend, IN. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.

Virgie was preceded in death by her parents, two children James, Jerome Leslie "Bon", Jerramie Farran Chambers "Nip", a grandchild Emmanuel Ray Leslie, sister, Majorie Heavens "Polly", brother-in-law Leroy Heavens, two great nephews Jay Anderson and Derrick Leslie Jr.
